ART BASEL Daring art by Latin AMerican and European Galleries

Overall the art exhibited by European and Latin American galleries won first place in my heart.  They  were brave enough to bring living artists or  what is know in the trade as primary market artists to the Premier Art Fair and their booths at Art Basel.  The USA galleries seem to mimic each other with the same old money producing names WARHOL, LIchtenstein , DE KOONING.  Although beautiful and dazzling and very big ticket and status names, they seem to be my-optic in their repetitiveness and seem to lose the spirit of the purpose for art.  Do they need to be taught? What happened to the old fashioned dealers who took risks Leo Casettlli. Tibor de Nagy and that school? We need more dealers that are about the art and the artists and not about the money.

Good observation, but unfortunately most owners look at art as an investment and therefore want to minimize risk.
