Go clubbing

I can't promise Hugh Dancy in bike shorts - as he is in this photo from The Jane Austen Book Club - or anyone as cool as Maria Bello, but I can promise books and camaraderie with other people who like books. That's even better.

Books & Books in the Gables is hosting the Book Club Mixer Olympics at 2 p.m. Sunday May 18, where book clubs and wannabe book club members can get together, share ideas and get tips from book club experts (really, there are such people!). They'll help you discover new books and the best ways to facilitate discussion (I learn toward a nice, crisp Chardonnay, but that's just me.)
