It's been what, a few weeks since Edwidge Danticat and Junot Diaz won any awards?
Well, that dry spell is over: Danticat's memoir Brother I'm Dying and Diaz's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao have won the 2008 Dayton Literary Peace Prize.
The prize, which aims to celebrate fiction and nonfiction that promotes peace and non-violent confrontations, also announced runners-up: Daniel Alarcon's Lost City Radio (fiction) and Cullen Murphy's Are We Rome?
Winners get a $10,000 honorarium and will be honored Sept. 28.
