The Florida Center for the Book is offering a weekend workshop in January, a weekend of six writing seminars that runs Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the Broward County Main Library, 100 Andrews Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. 12:45- 2 p.m.: Lunch break (brown bag recommended)
2-5 p.m.: Persuasive Writing in Uncertain Times with Michael Mayo. $45 in advance, $55 at the door.
2-5 p.m.: The Fast Pitch: Selling Your Book in 60 Seconds with Heidi W. Boehringer. $45 in advance, $55 at the door.
FEB. 1
1:45 p.m.: Shortcuts to a Great Plot with Joyce Sweeney. $30 in advance, $40 at the door.
1:45 p.m.: Bringing Stories to the Stage: a Playwriting Workshop with Todd Caster. $30 in advance, $40 at the door.
