Neil Gaiman wins Newbery Award

Graveyard You know him as the author of Stardust, perhaps, or for his Sandman graphic novel series. Now Neil Gaiman is the winner of the 2009 Newbery Medal (for best children's book) for The Graveyard Book.

Also announced by the American Library Association was the winner of the 2009 Randolph Caldecott Medal (for illustrated children's books): Beth Krommes for The House in the Night, written by Susan Marie Swanson.
