Perhaps I have found the one historical biography I plan to read this year: Herald reviewer Ariel Gonzalez loves the new A. Lincoln by Ronald C. White Jr.
I always wonder how historians find new ways to write about such people as Lincoln - what could there possibly be left say? Then again, I see new books on the Civil War practically every week, so I guess that's the whole point: new generations bring new perspectives. Of course, in the case of Lincoln, the timing couldn't be better, what with the president-elect Obama's inauguration looming and Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team of Rivals back on the bestseller list...
Read on to see if the book appeals.
White appears at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Books & Books in the Gables.

Great review; sounds like a great book.
