Borders Group has chosen its 2008 Original Voices winners in four categories:
Fiction: The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway
Nonfiction: The Geography of Bliss: One Grump’s Search for the Happiest Places in the World by Eric Weiner
Young Adult/ Independent Reader: I Am Apache by Tanya Landman
Children’s Picture Book: Those Darn Squirrels! by Adam Rubin and illustrated Daniel Salmieri
Winners get $5,000 and were chosen by Borders corporate and store employees; they'll get good publicity in the stores, I'm sure. This is the 13th year of the award.
