I would be more embarrassed being busted for lying about it than busted for not having read Moby Dick. If you lie and get caught you seem pathetic, wanting to appear smarter/more educated/cooler. If you haven't read it you can come up with some disdainful comment about why the book isn't worth your time. Get real people.

If you lie and get caught, you seem pathetic, trying to appear smart/intellectual/cool. Instead, come up with a disdainful reason why you haven't read the book. "Moby Dick? Hundred of pages of obsessive whale hunting? I think I'll pass."
