2010 Literary Feast offers something for every reader's palate

Looming on the literary horizon is the Broward Public Library Foundation's annual Literary Feast, where you can hobnob with some of your favorite authors for a good cause (the library, silly).

This year's event runs March 19-20 at Nova Southeastern University in Davie or Fort Lauderdale or wherever it is - listen, I went to high school out there, and I STILL am never sure which city is claiming that area.

Crombie On March 19, authors visit local high schools to talk with students. At Lit LIVE! on Saturday, March 20, you can hear panel discussions and lectures from authors, including Steve Alten, Russell Banks, R.B. Bernstein, Deborah Crombie, Joy Fielding, Mireille Guiliano, Anne C. Heller, David Kirby, Jean Hanff Korelitz, Elizabeth Kostova, Emily Liebert, Ellen Lupton, Peter Maass, Bob Morris, Achy Obejas, Alexandra Penney, Patricia Powell, Lisa See, Poppy Tooker, Jerald Walker and L. Jon Wertheim. (P.S. - that's suspense writer Crombie over there with her dog. I'm a big fan. Of Crombie, not the dog, though I am sure he is very nice, too).

At the library's big fundraiser, Night of Literary Feasts on the evening of March 20, a $150 ticket buys you a spot at a cocktail reception at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 and a spot at one of several swanky dinner parties around town with an author.  Call 954-357-7384 or email for an invitation.

Deborah Crombie! omg. How fun! I don't like her dog much, though. I got bitten badly once by a German shepherd. Not that that has anything to do with her particular dog! She's fab.
