Readers who can't get enough of the Twilight saga have something to celebrate this summer. Little, Brown Books for Young Readers (and for some adults suffering from arrested development - you know who you are) will release The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella on June 5, according to Publisher's Weekly.
The book - which tells the story of a vampire introduced in Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight series - goes on sale at 12:01 a.m. with a 1.5 million-copy first printing (an e-book version will be available at 6:00 a.m.). One dollar for each copy sold from the first printing will be donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund. And if you want to read it online for free, visit www.breetanner.com, where it will be posted from June 7-July 5.
This ought to take a bit of the sting out of Meyer abandoning the fifth book in the series, Midnight Sun, after part of it was leaked online.
PW reports that the Twilight books have sold 100 million copies, with a whopping 26.5 million sold in 2009 alone.

This is very exciting! And the fact that it came out of nowhere makes it even greater!
