Best books of infidelity

Affair Over at his Open Page blog, Friend of BtC Chauncey Mabe is debating the best novels of infidelity (in honor of Tiger, Mark Sanford, that incredibly stupid guy who is married to Sandra Bullock but who has a taste for tattooed Nazi porn stars and all the various other cheating horndogs out there).

My contributions: Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient (of course); Graham Greene's The End of the Affair; and Josephine Hart's Damage.

I think I would put Graham Greene's "The Heart of the Matter" ahead of "The End of the Affair."

How about "Advice to a Young Wife From an Old Mistress"? Though that might not quite count as a novel...
