Books & Books hosts "Bree Tanner" launch party

Bree It's not exactly the longed-for version of the Twilight events from Edward's point of view - you know, the one that was leaked on the Interwebs and infuriated author Stephenie Meyer so much she just refused to write another word. But Meyer's The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella hits shelves at midnight Friday, and Books & Books in Coral Gables is celebrating anyway.

Meyer only gave Bree 10 pages in her book Eclipse, but B&B is paying her a little more respect, with live music, trivia and costume contests and more starting at 9:30 p.m. in the Gables store, 265 Aragon Ave.

Like fantasy but not those annoying Twilight bloodsuckers? Show up at 8 p.m. Friday to hear Lev Grossman talk about his novel The Magicians. More on that later.
