That shrieking you just heard? That was me. Just got my hands on the galley for the new Dennis Lehane novel Moonlight Mile, due out Nov. 2. I thought: More historical fiction about the Irish in Boston? More - GOD FORBID - baseball?
No. Moonlight Mile marks the return of private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angie Gennaro. If you're a fan of Lehane (as I obviously am), you've been waiting since 1999's Prayers for Rain (which, incidentally, was published before Mystic River or Shutter Island). If you haven't read Lehane's series - the best of which is Darkness, Take My Hand - you will at least recall the film Gone Baby Gone was based on the fourth book in the series.
Been a long wait. I will savor this one.

Did you hear my shrieking all the way from ChiTown? Finally! I'm going to have to go back to read all the others because I don't remember where I left Angie and Patrick. It's been SO long! Great news. Thanks!
