Patti Smith wins National Book Award

Justkids Get out your Horses album, crank it up and celebrate: Musical icon Patti Smith - who appears at Miami Book Fair International at 8 p.m. Friday - won the National Book Award for fiction for her memoir Just Kids, about her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe.

Other winners:

Fiction: Lord of Misrule, Jaimy Gordon

Young People's Literature: Mockingbird, Kathryn Erskine

Poetry: Lighthead, Terrence Hayes
