I don't normally look for book news via Perez Hilton, but Friend of the Blog JuanL pointed this one out to me because he knows this news make my heart sing: Reality star books aren't selling. Except for stuff by Bethenny Frankel (a former Real Housewife of Somewhere, in case you are not in the pop culture loop; here's a photo of her if you care) like The Skinnygirl Dish and Naturally Thin.
Hilton cites The Hollywood Reporter, saying that Frankel has sold 480,000 copies of her first two books. However, books by other reality "stars" - oh, how loosely I use that word - like NeNe Leakes, Jill Zarin and Danielle Staub all sold fewer than 10,000 copies. Even Jersey Shore's Snooki only managed to sell 35,000, with her co-star The Situation managing only 15,000.
I suppose there is some joy to be had here, but maybe not too much. Publishing houses keep on giving these 15 Minutes of Famewhores contracts. Perhaps if we keep on not-reading them, this too shall pass.

People who watch Jersey Shore do not LIKE the stars...and if they DO they do not READ!
