Weighty issue

I know it's not a good idea to train the same muscle groups two days in a row, but I did it any way. Yesterday I did some heavy bench pressing with my friend Lou and today I did my normal routine of shoulders, incline, bench, decline, leg press, lats, etc. I was struggling, especially on the shoulder press and incline press. Now my shoulders ache as I sit her typing. Lesson learned. For now on I will stick to weight training on either M-W-F or T-Th-Sa.
Last week I interviewed body builder Dave Tuttle of Wilton Manors, and he stressed the importance of rest and recovery. He weight trains four days a week, working different muscle groups each day. He bikes once a week, and he rests the other two days. And his body looks fabulous. See for yourself in next Tuesday's (July8) Tropical Life section or onstage next weekend:

What: The 2008 NPC Southern States Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Championships
