In the past several months, several South Florida entrepreneurs have launched video-uploading websites, hoping to lure fame seekers away from YouTube. Unlike the free-for-all behemoth that is YouTube, these new sites are keeping focused on a niche audience.
But can these smaller sites survive in a world where YouTube is so popular, it's used as a verb?
Newcomers in South Florida include TriFame.com, Openfilm.com and ProjectBreakout.com.
They are excited about their new ventures, but analysts say starting a company in the online video industry is not for the faint of heart.
