Pink Slip Party Wednesday at Hard Rock, Thursday at Sunset Place

This weekend I wrote a story about a few South Florida career-related events and websites popping up recently [read it here]. One of them being a Pink Slip Party tonight and tomorrow at 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., organized by South Florida native Carlos Gil, who runs the newly launched site JobsDirectUSA.com.

Tonight's job networking event is at 88's Dueling Pianos at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Tomorrow is at Martini Bar, at The Shops at Sunset Place in South Miami.

This isn't the first event like this, but tonight's will certainly be big -- Gil expects about 200 people at tonight's event in Hollywood. Back on May 8th, Miami.com held a professional networking at Nikki Beach, which had a pretty good turnout of roughly 80 people. The guest speaker was Michael "Dr. Woody" Woodward, who helps folks land their next job interview or take their careers to a new level.

You can spot Dr. Woody at Thursday's Pink Slip Party at Martini Bar, and he'll also be at LaidOffCamp Miami June 6th.
