MTV markets Rock Band to neighborhood bars

Rockbandoff_falconpub Rock Band nights have been a weekly feature at some South Florida bars already, like Ye Olde Falcon Pub in Davie and at Transit Lounge in Miami. But Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games are working on getting more bars to offer the hit game at their venues.

The program is called Rock Band Bar Nights, and it offers support to registered bars to get the game set up and let players have access to the full music catalog of more than 800 tracks.

Bars that sign up before Sept. 8 can get a five-song preview disc from The Beatles: Rock Band before it goes on sale Sept. 9. You can get more info at http://www.rockband.com/barnights/ but the site seems to be down as I write this post.
