Yelp Miami turns 2!

Birthday hat 2 Yelp's Miami community is celebrating it's second year of giving critique and support to local businesses.

Miami Yelp has hosted events to celebrate its top users (the "Elite"). It also holds regular events that anyone can attend to learn about local merchants -- like restaurant, cocktail and spa weeks. Yelp Miami also does weekly sponsorships, most recently the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Launch Miami and Cirque du Soleil.

Yelp's Miami newsletter currently has 50,000 subscribers. Yelp communities have taken root in major metro areas across the U.S., Canada, UK, Ireland and France since the site was founded in 2004. More than 38 million unique visitors went to Yelp.com in August, and the site has more than 14 million reviews.

To celebrate, Miami's top Yelp users were invited to a Friday night party with free food and drinks from Bongos Cuban Cafe and Bacardi. With all the free events they host, it's no wonder they have a passionate and active online community.
