At 10 p.m. Wednesday, ABC airs an oddly serious version of the old Candid Camera show. Primetime: Basic Instincts uses hidden cameras to record people's choices when confronted with moral dilemmas: an apparently drunken stranger getting into a car, a boyfriend abusing his girlfriend (and vice-versa!), getting too much change from a shopkeeper. Of course, it would be
more interesting if the problems were drawn from real-life -- say, would you give a good review to an awful TV show starring Jennifer Aniston if she offered to have dinner with you? Now there's a dilemma. Come on, Primetime -- I'll even volunteer to be the first guinea pig.

Base, er, basic instincts
