NBC's post-strike plans

NBC's scripted series will start airing with new episodes April 3, when My Name Is Earl returns with a one-hour show. The network's other sitcoms -- The Office, 30 Rock and Scrubs will be back a week later. So will ER. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit returns April 15, and mothership Law & Order on April 23.

Two of NBC's fall series won't be back this spring, but have been renewed for the fall: Chuck and Life. The same is true for second-year sci-fi opus Heroes.

CBS, meanwhile, has announced the renewal of 11 series for next season. Only one was new this season: the nerds-in-heat sitcom The Big Bang Theory. The rest of the unsurprising list includes Cold Case, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, NCIS, Numb3rs, Two And A Half Men, Without A Trace, and all 300 versions of CSI.
