Conservative throat-slasher Ann Coulter, who's doing the promo rounds for her new liberals-are-the-spawn-of-Satan book Guilty, got booted off The Today Show Monday. If you believe the Drudge Report, it was because NBC has imposed a company-wide, permanent ban on Coulter in salute to the forthcoming Obama Millenium; if you believe NBC, it was just because the show ran out of time.
Whatever the case, NBC missed a bet for some entertaining television.Coulter made it onto the air the CBS Early Show Tuesday, and she and anchor Harry Smith pretty much gouged one another's eyes out. Smith's first question began: "You have this kind of sophomoric, sort of simplistic kind of view of so many things." Later he called her a "whiner." Coulter, for her part, mockingly retracted the observation in her book that Smith and the rest of the CBS anchors are "certafiably insane." Cooing with mock sincerity, Coulter reassured Smith: "You're not certifiably insane...Today you are the most brilliant person in the mainstream media, the most manly." Then they went on to have an illuminating discussion of whether America is full of insane right-wing would-be assassins or insane left-wing would-be assassins. How could Matt Lauer have turned this down?

She is so inappropriate and loathesome, yet she makes for fantastic TV, even though I sit there cringing with every word that comes out of her mouth. But I watch! Lauer definitely missed out on this one

Turns out, Coulter is appearing on NBC tomorrow after all. Guess they saw the ratings and woke up!

Nice legs. I mean Coulter's, not yours, Lesley. I mean, I'm sure your legs are nice, but I can't see them, not that I would be so gauche as to look.

Ann Coulter’s book is not outrageous. She is part of the neo-con, zionist machine. Her books are not controversial, they are neo-con wet dreams. Read a book that’s actually been banned like “America Deceived”, not a corporate-approved Coulter ‘novel’. Don’t waste your hard-earned money on Coulter.

Ann Coulter is like Dorian Gray: attractive on the outside, loathsome on the inside. If she weren't good looking, no one would be interested in the hate she spews.
