Ding-ding-ding-ding! We have a winner! Err, loser!

First cancellation of the fall: The CW has pulled the plug on The Beautiful Life: TBL, the Mischa Barton   trashfest about life among the supermodels, after just two episodes. Color me amazed: I thought Cougar Town was a shoo-in for the quickest hook. But it had a horrifying 11.3 million viewers for its Wednesday debut. (We'll see how many of them come back.) There's still a possibility, I think, that NBC will be seized with a sudden fit of perception, realize how perfectly stupid its medical drama Trauma is, and cancel it even before its Monday debut. We can always hope.
