This item isn't creepy AT ALL

The dead, stuffed body of Roy Rogers' horse Trigger will be auctioned off at Christie's in New York next week. Estimated sale price: between $100,000 and $200,000. When I interviewed Roy back in the early 1980s, he told me the preservation of Trigger had bugged Dale Evans so much that she threatened to stuff Roy when he died. No word yet from Christie's on when he'll be available.

Well, Dale's horse, Buttermilk, was also stuffed and on display for many years at the Double R Bar Museum in Victorville, California...so I don't know what she was complaining about. I believe Buttermilk will also be auctioned, but is not expected to bring the vast sums of the iconic Trigger. I believe Bullet is up for grabs, too. Apparently, there was a taxidermy boom in Victorville in the 60's.

How sad that the family had to auction off all these great pieces. Did the mudeum in Victorville go belly-up? It would have been great to have seen many of those items at LA's Museum of the West in Griffith Park.
