Is that Carmela Soprano? Or Nurse Jackie?

Carmelajackie Edie Falco tells my Los Angeles Times pal Maria Elena Fernandez that people who spot her in public have quit yelling, "Oh my God, it's Carmela!" Now it's, "Oh my God, it's Jackie!" Falco says she found it "jarring" at first to no longer be automatically linked to what had been her signature role, avaricious Mafia wife Carmela Soprano in The Sopranos. I'd say it's a flattering (and accurate) tribute to her acting ability that she's made the hard-bitten and drug-addicted Nurse Jackie into an even more indelible character. For other Falco secrets, including what she really thinks about dressing up for the Emmys, read Maria Elena's story.
