Please don't pet the wolverines, even on PBS

There’s a whole lot of cuddly, cute stuff in Wolverine: Chasing the Phantom, Sunday’s episode of the PBS Wolverine documentary series Nature, but make sure you watch the whole show before logging onto eBay to buy one to frolic with the kids. Pay particular attention to the scene in which two wolverine scientists – no, no, scientists who study wolverines, not wolverines who are scientists; it’s not that cuddly of a show – find the gnawed jawbone of a goat that was unlucky enough to run into a couple of the vicious animals.

“It’s interesting,” cheerfully muses one of the scientists. “They didn’t eat the teeth. … They must not have been hungry that day.” Read my full review in Sunday's Miami Herald.
