There have been so many positive changes at Miami-Dade Animal Services in the past year that it's hard to list them. Now Director Dr. Sara Pizano has hired one key deputy and is seeking two more. Hired already: Dr. Kelly Rada as Assistant Director of Veterinary Services. Looking for:

Networks to increase community outreach. Responsible for marketing the shelter and our mission….’big picture’ person. Solicits media for special announcements-new building, doubling adoptions, amnesty program, etc. Plans events. Supervises two staff-the Humane Educator and the Volunteer/Adoption Coordinator.
Nicknamed the Community Outreach Coordinator. The person who actually does most of the outreach such as career days, Youth Fair, hosting kids groups at the shelter, (like the Girl Scouts), speaking engagements. Helps plan mobile adoptions and attends mobile adoptions.
Interested parties should read the instructions on the miamidade.gov/jobs website between November 6-10 and should not e-mail their resumes, since all applications are processed centrally for the county.
