This is such a lovely story - sad too, of course. The family of a young soldier killed in Iraq spent nine months trying to get the Marines to let them have the dog who was with him - and wounded alongside him - when he died. They were partners, and the grieving family knew their son would have wanted his dog taken care of. Click here to read it.
