Long Distance Pet Adoptions: SoFla-Maine

HUMANE SOCIETY OF GREATER MIAMI ADOPT-A-PET TO PARTNER WITH
MAINE RESCUE GROUP FOR îSISTER SHELTER' PROJECT

The Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet has announced a "groundbreaking'' Sister Shelter project with the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League in Maine. Miami Humane calls it a case of supply and demand.

"We have an overabundance of dogs needing forever homes and there is a lack of adoptable dogs in the Camden-Rockport area,'' said Emily Marquez-Dulin, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Greater Miami. îîThis will provide a service for the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League and will allow us to take in more dogs who need our help here in our community.

"We are excited about this opportunity to collaborate with an organization that shares our mission of helping homeless pets,'' says Bill Amidon, Executive Director of the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League. îîWe hope that these dogs will find wonderful, loving homes in our community.''

   Great idea!
