This has been on the Internet for awhile, but it still fascinates me - and it checks out on Snopes. She was abandoned during Katrina and was attacked by dogs. Her leg had to be amputated. An innovative vet figured out how to save her life with a prosthetic leg. Amazing!! But it makes me wonder why Barbaro couldn't be saved with something similar.
