Blog's Back-- with a 'good news' story

Seven Miam-Dade kids, credited with saving a battered and beaten puppy when someone tried to stuff her down a storm drain are being honored on Thursday, as they richly deserve.
The kids alerted an adult who crawled into the drain and rescued the poor little dog, a shepherd mix now called Winnie ('cause she really is a winner).
Whoever these low-lifes are - and police are looking for them - also injured Winnie's leg so badly that it had to be amputated.
The kids - one at Lenora B. Smith Elementary, six at Allapattah Middle - will be honored at school assemblies as Extraordinary Animal Heros by Kids Help Animals, a nonprofit.

GRATEFUL PAWS DOG & CAT RESCUE, INC., needs help paying Winnie's vet bills: 954-462-8840;   gratefulpaws@bellsouth.net.
