I've also read a couple stories on people leaving pets behind in an abandoned home. Some have actually starved to death. It is a very, very cruel thing to do.

The Industry assoc for pets indicate that an upward trend for pet product sales is a fact. Super pet stores such as PetSmart have seen an upward steadily increase in supply sales, etc.
