Great News from the Shelter

Miami-Dade Animal Services reports record adoptions in December: 700!!  Dr. Sara Pizano, director, says: "I want to thank all our amazing staff, volunteers and supporters who have worked so hard to save the lives of our shelter animals.''

Could it be that in these tight economic times, prospective critter owners are realizing they don't have to spend hundreds - sometimes thousands - with a breeder or at a pet store to get a wonderful, loving companion? Whatever the reason, it's great news, and I hope the trend continues.
