Free Eye Exams for Service Dogs

ACVO/Merial National Service Dog Eye Exam

The American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, together with Merial, Hills’s Pet Nutrition, OPTIGEN, and Kong Veterinary Products, will launch the 2nd National Service Dog Eye Exam Week from May 3-9.  To qualify for free ophthalmic exams, dogs must be “working dogs” certified through a formal training program or organization.  To learn more about and register for this event, please visit www.ACVOeyeexam.org.

We are fortunate to have three SVFMA board certified veterinary ophthalmologists participating in this program.  Thank you Dr. Karl A. Schmidt, Jr. (Animal Eye Specialty Clinic, 305-652-0448), Dr. Lorraine G. Karpinski (Pinecrest Veterinary Hospital, 305-278-1300), and Dr. Teresa Tucci  (Veterinary Specialists Incorporated, 305-246-1701) for your dedicated service.
