My name is Teddy and I am about 1 1/2 years old. I am a big strong blocky
85lb boy with a thick black coat. I am very affectionate and love to sit ON your
feet or lap or anywhere near you. I am confident, energetic and playful and love
to get my big foster brother all riled up. Although I was a stray my foster mom
can tell I had a family once because I already knew how to sit when I moved in.
I was a little confused about the rules of the house at first but my foster mom
and brother have been showing me the ropes and I am starting to figure it out. I
have learned to go in my crate when she says "Kennel-up!", I have learned to lie
down, I am learning to "leave-it" even when there is something really tempting
in front of me. My foster mom thinks she is the best dog trainer in the world
but the truth is that I am one of the fastest learners she has ever met! I have
already learned to ring a bell when I want to go outside (but my foster brother
taught me that one all by himself so she can`t take any credit for that). I
would love to learn more new tricks and my foster mom thinks I might even be a
good "working dog". I was worried that meant that my days of hanging out were
over until she told me it would mean lots of treats and hanging out with my
human all day.
I can be a pretty quiet boy too. I have a deep bark when I think there are
intruders and a fun little bark when I see something I want to play with, but I
do not do either bark very much! I love being around my human and will sit by
her desk while she is working and move around the house with her. I love being
around her but when she leaves I wait patiently in my crate for her to return. I
have met lots of people, kids and other dogs and just want to play with all of
them! I was very sweet to the kids I met and bet they would love to play with
me, but my foster mom thinks I would have trouble being gentle enough with them
so it would be best if I hung out with older kids. I have not met any cats yet
so not sure how I would do around them.
