"On Friday morning, my husband and I discovered a young Rottweiler running loose on our street. She had a collar but no tag and wasn't microchipped. We have posted signs all around the neighborhood and at the local dog park, but no one has contacted us and no one recognizes her so it seems as though she was abandoned. We have nicknamed her Elsie (for L.C. -- the Lizard Chaser, due to her favorite activity). She is a female Rottweiler - approximately 1 year old, weighs 75 lbs. We had her checked over by our vet; got her vaccinated, microchipped, checked for heart worms (none), started her on flea medication, etc. She is healthy with a very good temperament.
She has barked only a few times, but didn't even growl when a neighbor's two Dobermans charged her aggressively. She is lease trained but we are unsure if she is house trained as we have kept her in our yard.
It is really sad as she is such a sweet dog. If we didn't already have two special needs cats, we would keep her ourselves. If you know of anyone willing to give her a good home or interested in "meeting" her, please have them contact Kathy at 305 401 4693 or jennifer at (954) 536-6732. ''
