Roye Levin, who built Adopt-a-Pet up from a small foster-home network to a no-kill shelter, then merged it with the Humane Society of Greater Miami, has died. I wrote about him for the first time in 2004, and we became great friends. I've never known anyone with a bigger heart for animals, and I'll miss him. Click here for the obit.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet is truly saddened by the loss of Roye Levin, one of our organization's founders. His contributions to animal welfare will always be remembered as well as his love for the homeless and abandoned animals in Miami-Dade County.
