Attention all cat lovers! Tomorrow, September 30, is the last day to take advantage of the special adoption fee for cats and kittens at the Broward County Animal Care Adoption Centers.
The promotion, which began in May, enables residents to adopt two cats at the single adoption fee of $74.95 and is in response to the high number of cats and kittens received at the Adoption Center during breeding season. "Felines usually breed during the spring and summer months. So it is not unusual for us to receive a high number of mother cats and kittens during this time of year," said Lisa Mendheim, public education coordinator, Broward County Animal Care and Regulation.
The adoption fee for both cats includes a health exam, vaccinations, feline leukemia/AIDS test and spaying or neutering. Each cat will also receive a Broward County pet license.
There is a 14-day return policy on all adopted pets. However, if a family wishes to return one of the adopted cats, they will not receive a refund unless both cats are returned.
To take final advantage of the special rate, families are encouraged to visit the Broward County Animal Care Adoption Center, located at 1870 S.W. 39th St., Fort Lauderdale, or the Broward County Animal Care Adoption Center in Pompano Beach, 3100 N.W. 19th Terrace. Adoption hours at both facilities are 1 to 6 p.m.
Tomorrow is also be the last day for the special rate on cats and kittens available for adoption at all Broward County Pet Supermarket stores.
