Poor Old Bud Nearly Died on the Street

As you can see, this old guy is in rough shape, but thankfully a good Samaritan rescued him. Here's the story - AND IF YOU CAN HELP PLEASE CALL NADINE 954 531 8421 OR KATHY 305 401 4693.

It was 95 degrees out and Bud was walking around a N Miami neighborhood, looking for shade, and maybe a place to curl up and die. His skin was peeling off , full of bugs, with no hair covering the middle of his back to his tail. We thought he deserved more of a chance to live, so we drove him to Hollywood Animal Hospital. He had to be lifted in and out of the car, but he was very co operative. He spent 4 nights there, and recovered from heat exhaustion , was treated for a massive and chronic yeast infection, urinary infection and given medicated baths. He has been with me for 4 days and is on antibiotics. He is not neutered because he is not in good condition and the chance of greater infection surgery, is probable. He is heartworm negative.

He is about 9 years, and may have had a home at one time, but has probably been on the street for a long time He is underweight at 45lbs, and should get up to 50-52lbs. He is not at all aggressive  and gets along with dogs and is ok with cats.

His skin will get better, but it will take time. He is happy to go for walks, and loves the backyard, but he cannot live outside again. We'd like him to have a safe place to spend the rest of his life.
