We at the Crime Blog have been a little delinquent over the holidays.
We're sorry.
Here's two odd stories we didn't get to:
The first an apology from a man who spent Christmas squatting in a strangers house.
Not exactly the present you want to wake up to.
Stanley Carter, 21, apparently lived in the attic of a Pennsylvania home after friends in a neighboring unit kicked him out.
Carter stole food, clothing, cash and Christmas presents and kept a list of the take, calling it "Stanley's Christmas List.''
His public defender, Basil Russin, said he's "very sorry and upset it happened. He was very peaceful up there and kept to himself,'' the AP reported.
The second story comes from Bismarck, N.D., where a 17-year-old called to report that she was driving drunk.
Said police Lt. Randy Ziegler: "I've never heard of such a thing happening, and neither has anyone here.''
She told police where she was, and they found her in a parked car.
She was arrested for failing to have control of her vehicle while intoxicated.
