'A game of whack a mole'

Miami U.S. Attorney Wifredo Ferrer told the Miami Herald that fighting Medicare fraud was "like a game of whack a mole."

South Florida's Medicare schemers -- popping up left and right -- continue to outsmart the system by cheating the government into handing them hundreds of millions.

This morning the game did not go so well in Miami, where the feds were hoping to arrest Dr. Jorge J. Dieppa, 56, but he was not at home. Rumor is he was away having fun on a cruise.

The feds charged 93 other suspects -- 24 in Miami-Dade County. Miami Herald Staff reporter Jay Weaver has the story.
