Dissidents seized; Cuba repeats charges
At least seven dissidents were detained by State Security on Thursday, as Foreign Minister Felipe Pérez Roque repeated charges that the U.S. Interests Section in Havana was encouraging anti-Castro demonstrations on the Fourth of July. The USINT denied the accusations, which were originally made Wednesday by the Foreign Ministry and restated by Pérez Roque during a visit to Venezuela. "We know nothing about Fourth of July activities," said Gregory Adams, the USINT's press chief. The dissidents "do not keep us advised."
The USINT could not confirm the detentions, which were first reported by dissident spokesman Elizardo Sánchez. In Venezuela, where he is attending a meeting of nonaligned nations, Pérez Roque said the United States is attempting "to fabricate, with much money and resources, a domestic opposition in Cuba that will facilitate [Washington's] plans for the annexation and surrender of Cuba." [UPDATE: By day's end, all but three of 17 detainees were released, Sánchez told the Reuters news agency.]

I believe the combination of Ana Margarita's true story of love and betrayal, and Chris Simmons' expertise in counter-intelligence are the perfect mix for a blockbuster book and movie.
Best wishes, Lily Prellezo
