Migrants reportedly dropped off in Fort Lauderdale

About 30 migrants have been dropped off in the 1700 block of South Ocean Lane in Fort Lauderdale, according to early reports. Officials have several in custody.

Early reports indicate at least one body has been found.

Fort Lauderdale police received a report from a resident in the Lago Mar neighborhood about the group.

City officers and U.S. Customs & Border Protection Officers responded to the area of 1800 South Ocean Lane to the report of migrants in the area. 

The migrants are believed to be from Haiti, according to Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman DeAnna Greenlaw.
