Pembroke Pines investigating suspicious death

The Pembroke Pines Police Department is investigating a suspicious death Tuesday morning in the Emerald Lake Estates community.

A Miami Gardens Police Officer, who was on the way to work, was flagged down by someone who spotted a disoriented woman who was bleeding. The officer then called 911.

The woman, who had a gun shot wound to her head, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood where she was listed in critical condition.

Meanwhile, police canvassed the neighborhood and found a house with the door ajar. Police found an unresponsive man outside of the house on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released the names of the man and woman because they have not notified the next of kin.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pembroke Pines Police Department at 954-431-2200, e-mail Tips@ppines.com or call Crimestoppers at 954-493-8477.
