Water main break in Southwest Miami-Dade floods streets

A water main broke Thursday in Southwest Miami-Dade, flooding the road at Southwest 86th Street and 49th Avenue.

"It's a very, very minor water main break," said Jennifer Skold, a spokeswoman for the Miami Dade County Water a
nd Sewer Department.

Repairs are under way and could cause lower water pressure for homes located on 49th Avenue between 80th and 88th Street, Skold said.

"I am not aware of any damages to houses," Skold said.

Authorities are blocking off the area which could lead to some traffic issues.

The cause for the break is still unclear.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
