A deadly crash early Thursday has shut down a stretch of the MacArthur Causeway.

At least one person died in the crash on the westbound side of the causeway and Fountain Street at Palm Island.

The crash involved a Lamborghini and an SUV. A passenger was killed and the two drivers were taken to the hospital.

"Witnesses told us that a Lamborghini was going in excess of 100 miles per hour," Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said at the scene.

Apparently, the sports car struck a Suburban that was stopped at a red light.

Debris is spread across the road. After the impact, the Lamborghini spun into a causeway guardrail.

"Expect MacArthur Causeway westbound to be closed for several hours,"

Drivers heading to Miami need to take the Venetian or Tuttle causeways to the north.

What a shame that the utterly stoopid get to have Lambo's to crash them.
