From the Tampa Bay Times:
The man named as a suspect Wednesday in the weekend killing of a 9-year-old Tampa girl faces a new charge of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, according to Pinellas County Jail records.
Granville Ashanti Ritchie, 35, was booked in jail Wednesday afternoon on a charge of possession of the drug Ecstasy. U.S. Marshals arrested him in St. Petersburg on a drug-related warrant and found a cellophane wrapper package with Ecstasy during a search of his person, according to an arrest report.
Hours later, Temple Terrace police declared that he was a person of interest in the killing of Felecia Williams, a Tampa third-grader found dead Saturday in the waters of Tampa Bay near the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
While Ritchie had not been charged with Felecia's death early Thursday morning, he was being held in Pinellas County on the drug charge and two Hillsborough County warrants — one a marijuana charge, and the other for four counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
The circumstances of the latter accusation were not immediately clear. And many questions remained about Ritchie's connection to Felecia's disappearance and her family. Police continued not to divulge how Felecia was killed, and what, if any, relationship Ritchie had with Eboni Wiley, the woman last seen with the girl.
