Two people dead in SW Miami-Dade shooting

Miami-Dade police are at a Kendall apartment building where two people were reportedly shot dead.

"A subject is in custody," Miami-Dade police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta said Thursday morning.

Twodead4A suspect was stopped and detained after officers noticed a vehicle in the area that matched the description provided from witnesses, Zabaleta said.

A mother and son were reportedly shot and killed in an apartment after 4 a.m. Thursday. Police have not yet provided details on the victims.

Friends and neighbors identified them as Anthony Sikora and his mother Gale Sikora, according to CBS4. Friends say Anthony was a student Miami-Dade College and his mother was an RN in case management at Baptist hospital.

Police believe the man in custody and Anthony Sikora  had a dispute that had been escalating over the last couple of days, CBS4 reported.

The shooting was in the area of Southwest 143rd Avenue and 96th Street.
