The Dolphins are making today's OTA session open to the media and here's what's going on so far:
The team is practicing in the Nick Saban Memorial Bubble today. I've been told working outside the last couple of days has taken its toll and the coaching staff wants the players fresh for the weekend's minicamp.
Several players are back at practice after being out earlier in the offseason. Paul Soliai, who was on the sideline last we saw, is in drills today. So are cornerback Andre' Goodman and tight end Anthony Fasano.
Guard Steve McKinney is still not working.
Speaking of guards, rookie Shawn Murphy is working with the first team today. Doesn't mean he's a first-teamer, but he's lining up at left guard next to fellow rookie Jake Long. Justin Smiley is at right guard with Vernon Carey at right tackle. Samson Satele is the center.
Very interesting to me: Matt Roth is getting individual work with the linebackers. Perhaps the new staff has decided to see if he shows more promise as something of a standup guy than a two-gap DE, which he struggled playing last year. Goodman, by the way, is working with the starting unit replacing Mike Lehan.
Check back in a couple of hours and I'll have a post-practice update.

Finally, no gossip or He said/She said.
Nice work keep it up! Any idea about additional WR help?

That would be interesting if Roth can make the transition to LB. I would love to see him make an impact at that position!!

Matt Roth working at LB, very interesting. He did play some LB at Iowa.

While the dolphins continue to mesh and get used to one another, we would hope that some common threads could be established. Hopefully the OFENSE will develop the hungry desire to relentlessly cross the other teams goal line and earn the right to be called CHAIN MOVERS. The DEFENSE must develop the aggressive mentality of shutting down and stuffing the other teams offense by earning the right to say "WE NEVER CLOSE". The SPECIAL TEAMS should learn to attack anything that moves with relentless abandon to be able to say "SHOCK AND AWE BABY, SHOCK AND AWE".

I agree with Bruzzy. I want to know about additional WR help, since we neglected it in the draft. I believe Koren Robinson and/or Chris Henry can help our team TREMENDOUSLY if given the opportunity. Also, any chance Jeff Ireland and/or Bill Parcells would consider signing Shaun Alexander if either Ronnie or Ricky go down with injuries???

Shock and awe and 12 and 4 sound great to me! I know that I am dreaming. The clock game was the last awe that I seen.

Nick Saban Memorial Bubble... queue up the Beverly Hillbilly music. LOL
Glad to hear Solia is working today. I've heard nothing positive on the kid since we drafted him last season... but with the trifecta only trading for Ferguson at the NT position, it seems they must hope to see something out of the kid. I know the 7th rounder was said to be able to "grow into" the NT position... but that sounds less than promising for this year.

Nice work Armando,
I think it's telling when Ireland said they may consider going after a receiver later and not much was available right now. I wonder if they try and pick up Terry Glenn if Jerry Jones writes him off?
Nice to hear about stuff other than the dancer.

Oh yeh - I hate that bubble - we have lost our Sept October edge since that put that stupid thing up.

We might be looking for a corner now, Lehan was injured at practice today and the report said it looked serious.

I like the way the OL is coming together. They should play a very physical brand of football for us this year and the Brown / Williams teamup should allow us to control the clock and make our QB's life easier.
Roth at LB is a bit odd. I could see them moving Merling there, but Roth is stiff and not real quick mentally or physically. Maybe this is last look at him before we trade him to a 4-3 team. CB Lito Sheppard anyone?
Love the reports, keep them coming!
